Duke'S BIGGER Participants: Where Are They Now?

"After the BIGGER program, I moved to Colombia to work with a public health organization to reduce health disparities caused by socioeconomic inequality. The training I received from BIGGER was integral when designing and conducting field surveys, creating educational health materials, and reducing bias in the quality improvement projects we undertook. Since returning from Colombia, I have been working at Duke Employee Health. BIGGER equipped me with the ability to find answers in peer-reviewed literature and critically evaluate how results from clinical trials can be applied directly to our guidelines for vaccination and infectious disease screening.”

- Reid McCabe, 2017 BIGGER participant

"I am currently in graduate school at Morehouse School of Medicine. I am in the Master's of Science in Biomedical Research program and my expected graduation date is May 2020."
