Duke Center for Health Informatics--N409. Health Information Systems

This course provides an overview of historical, current, and emerging information systems in health care. Multiple systems, vendors, processes, and organizations will be studied. Students will learn features and functions that are common to most health care information systems. Criteria, tools, and methods for evaluating health care information systems will be explored. This course also explores the anticipated impact of a National Health Information Infrastructure (NHII) for improving population-based health outcomes. Fall (distance-based). 3 credits.
