Kiah Gaskin, MPH, MSW
Kiah Gaskin is a Research Program Leader with CTSI’s Community Engaged Research Initiative. She helps academic and community-based investigators navigate the complexities of partnered research, with particular expertise in dissemination and implementation science, population health improvement, and health equity. She currently oversees the dissemination and evaluation of community-healthcare partnerships to treat childhood obesity across 8 rural North Carolina communities, including the original program model, “Bull City Fit”, co-developed by Dr. Sarah Armstrong and Durham Parks & Recreation. Kiah’s favorite part about community-engaged research is seeing the fruit of authentic and sometimes surprising relationships built and sustained over time. She is most grateful to constantly learn new things from colleagues across Duke, Durham and North Carolina to inform her work.
