Brooke Heidenfelder serves as a Project Leader with the Translational Population Health Research (TransPop) team and the Duke CTSA pilot funding programs of the CTSI. Some of her current work involves site setup and management, clinical data collection and management, IRB submissions (including the use of devices and algorithms in clinical research), and resolution of technical difficulties. 

She holds a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware and obtained her PhD in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Heidenfelder’s background includes postdoctoral experience with multidisciplinary clinical studies at the US Environmental Protection Agency, industry experience in a genomics and diagnostics laboratory, and management of a portfolio of comparative effectiveness research projects within the Duke Evidence-based Practice Center.
