John Mitchell, PhD is the Director of the Community-Partnered Research Network (CPRN), a member of the CPRN’s Executive Leadership Committee, and a member of the CPRN’s Community Clinical Research Organization. Dr. Mitchell is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University. He has been a member of the Duke Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Program since 2009 where he conducts the majority of his research and clinical work. He is a licensed psychologist and has published over 80 peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. He also co-authored the first published clinician manual of a mindfulness-based intervention for adults diagnosed with ADHD. Dr. Mitchell brings extensive experience conducting research in the community that has taught him the value of true partnership. Such partnership—whether community-partnered or community-led—is crucial to conducting research that is meaningful and impactful to the communities they intend to serve.
