CTSI connects with community partners across North Carolina

CTSI staff recently participated in two community-focused events to share information about Workforce Development and Community Connections for Health Translation (CCHT) programs while strengthening connections with partners across the state.

At the Duke Community-Engaged Internship & Fellowship Program Showcase and Open House on Aug. 27, staff connected with students, faculty, community organizations, and local partners working to advance community-engaged research, teaching, and service. The event also highlighted projects led by interns and fellows addressing community priorities through partnerships with local organizations.

Two days later, staff attended the 4th Community Health Workers Forum at Johnston Community College in Smithfield, where 114 participants from organizations across North Carolina gathered to share resources and best practices for improving community health. Through conversations with community health workers, public health professionals, and community organizations, CTSI staff expanded their network, learned more about evolving community needs, and identified opportunities for future collaboration.

Together, the events provided valuable opportunities to raise awareness of CTSI programs, strengthen community partnerships, and support ongoing efforts to advance health translation and community-engaged research throughout North Carolina.
