Danielle Little
Danielle Little is a maternal and child health leader, educator, and systems-change strategist dedicated to improving health outcomes for families across North Carolina. With more than 15 years of experience in maternal and child health, she has worked across community, nonprofit, and healthcare settings to improve health literacy, strengthen family engagement, and advance health equity. Drawing on her experience as a maternal and child health educator, birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and lactation counselor, she developed a deep understanding of the barriers families face when navigating healthcare systems and community resources.
Little is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of THRIVE Family Health & Education Center, a community-rooted nonprofit focused on improving family health through education, advocacy, and research. Under her leadership, THRIVE is developing innovative models that support families from preconception and pregnancy through postpartum and early childhood while addressing the social, relational, and structural factors that influence health and well-being.
Through her work, Little brings together families, healthcare providers, community organizations, researchers, and policymakers to co-design solutions that improve trust, access, and outcomes. Her expertise spans maternal and child health, family engagement, community co-design, health education, and systems transformation.
Grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience, Little holds a bachelor's degree in Child Development and Health Education and a master's degree in Adult Education. Her academic training and extensive experience working alongside families, communities, and healthcare systems have shaped her ability to connect health education, family engagement, and systems change to advance healthier outcomes for children and families.
