Duke Inclusion of Special Populations in Clinical Research Enrollment Dashboard

The Inclusion of Special Populations (ISP) in Clinical Research Enrollment Dashboard seeks to inform the public about the representation of participants from special populations in Duke clinical research. The ISP Dashboard shows representation by age, sex, race, ethnicity, and rurality for Duke Clinical Research Participants (DCRP) compared with U.S. Census regions (Durham County, NC state, U.S., 2000)

The ISP Dashboard has been updated through Sept 30, 2025, and includes 413,506 research encounters recorded for 279,126 individual participants (68% of all participations) across 6,911 study protocols (any status). Based on associated zip codes, about 73% of participants live in North Carolina, of whom 20% are in Durham County.

For more information about the ISP Dashboard and variables, please see the Technical Appendix.
