Duke Integrating Across the Lifespan (IAL) in Clinical Research Enrollment Dashboard

The Integrating Across the Lifespan (IAL) in Clinical Research Enrollment Dashboard seeks to inform the public about the representation of participants from special populations in Duke clinical research. The IAL Dashboard shows representation by age, sex, race, ethnicity, and rurality for Duke Clinical Research Participants (DCRP) compared with U.S. Census regions (Durham County, NC state, U.S., 2000)

The IAL Dashboard has been updated through January 7, 2026, and includes 413,539 research encounters recorded for 279,205 individual participants (68% of all participations) across 6,914 study protocols (any status). Based on associated zip codes, about 73% of participants live in North Carolina, of whom 20% are in Durham County.

For more information about the IAL Dashboard and variables, please see the Technical Appendix.
