The PROMOTE study assessed whether a test product can improve insulin sensitivity in people with Type 2 diabetes. The test product was developed as a medical food for people who may need additional support for blood glucose control.

About the Study
Eligible participants were randomly assigned to receive either the test product or placebo.
Participants were asked to take their assigned tablets twice a day for 84 days (12 weeks). Participants recorded the time the tablets were taken, as well as any adverse reactions or changes to medical condition during participation.
Study Qualifications
To qualify for this research study, participants were:

Between the ages of 18–70 years old

Diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and under the care of a healthcare professional for its management
Study Duration
Participation in the study lasted approximately 15 weeks with six visits in either Kannapolis or Durham.
