Perusi Muhigaba, PhD

Project Manager and Research Analyst, Evaluation and Strategic Planning

Perusi Muhigaba, PhD (they/them), is a Project Manager and Research Analyst with Evaluation and Strategic Planning. They are committed to applying an intersectional and equity-focused lens to evaluation, research, and practice. Prior to beginning this position at CTSI in 2022, they worked on health and healthcare equity research in North Carolina State University's Black Health Lab. They hold a bachelor's in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a PhD in applied social psychology from North Carolina State University.

Susanna Naggie, MD, MHS, FIDSA

Director, Clinical and Translational Science Institute

Vice Dean for Clinical and Translational Research, Duke University School of Medicine

Susanna Naggie, MD, MHS, FIDSA, a Professor of Medicine, has expertise in infectious diseases, including HIV and viral hepatitis. She is currently serving as director of Duke CTSI and also serves as the vice dean for Clinical and Translational Research in the School of Medicine.

Lesia O'Hara

Senior Program Coordinator, CTSI Accelerator

Lesia O’Hara brings over 20 years of experience in administrative and operational support, study start-up, training and education, IT and customer service. She is currently working as a Sr. Program Coordinator for CTSI Accelerator.  In this role, Lesia provides oversight of MyResearchProposal processes and assists with administrative oversight for the CTSI Accelerator funding programs.  Lesia started with the CTSI in February 2018 and prior to joining CTSI, she worked with the Duke Office of Clinical Research (DOCR) as an Operations Coordinator.

Jeremy O'Quinn

Program Coordinator, Administration

Jeremy O'Quinn joined the Duke Clinical Translational Science Institute (CTSI) in May 2022 as Program Coordinator supporting Duke's Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) within the CTSI. Jeremy has over 15 years of experience in administrative support. Prior to joining CTSI, Jeremy worked as lead scheduler with the American Red Cross managing multiple blood mobile territories across North Carolina. Jeremy began his Duke career in 2017 at Duke Clinical Research Institute working as Staff Specialist within the Technology and Data Solutions team.

Promila Pagadala, PhD

Clinical Trials Project Leader, CTSI Accelerator

Promila Pagadala will be providing project management and strategic support to investigators at Duke to help them succeed in their translational projects. With experience in basic science, translational, and clinical research projects, Promila is excited to provide her insight to facilitate the advancement of research projects with an overall goal of taking therapies from bench side to bedside.

Amanda Parrish, PhD, RAC

Executive Director, Regulatory Affairs and Quality

Amanda Parrish, PhD, RAC is the Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality in the Office of Regulatory Affairs and Quality (ORAQ) within the Duke University School of Medicine. In this role, Dr. Parrish oversees a team of Regulatory and Quality professionals who provide guidance on FDA regulations for product development, clinical trials research, and manufacturing at Duke.

Michael Pencina, PhD

Michael J. Pencina, PhD, is Duke Health's chief data scientist and serves as vice dean for data science, director of Duke AI Health, and professor of biostatistics and bioinformatics at the Duke University School of Medicine. His work bridges the fields of data science, health care, and AI, and builds upon Duke’s national leadership in trustworthy AI.
