Brooke Heidenfelder, PhD, serves as a research program leader in the Duke Center for Precision Health and for the center’s Duke Kannapolis research site. Her work involves managing clinical research site operations and handling logistics for large-scale genomics research studies, including the OneDukeGen Genomic Sequencing Study and Biorepository (OneDukeGen) at Duke.
Holly Hough, PhD
Holly Hough, PhD, was most recently employed as a Research Program Leader in the Duke Office for Clinical Research (DOCR). She co-developed CRISP, or the Clinical Research Internship Portal, in collaboration with CTSI Workforce Development and previously designed and launched the integrative medicine program for patients at the North Carolina Cancer Hospital.

As the product manager for myRESEARCHhome, Derek works with the Duke research community and developers in the Office of Research Informatics to create solutions for researchers and facilitate adoption through outreach. He has been at Duke for 6 years, having worked as a Clinical Research Coordinator and Research Program Leader in Pulmonary Critical Care before stepping into the product manager role.
Derek has a bachelor's degree from Westmont College and an M.Div from Duke.
Rishikesan (Rishi) Kamaleswaran is an Associate Professor at in the Department of Surgery and Department of Anesthesiology at the Duke University School of Medicine, with secondary appointments in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering in the Pratt School of Engineering. He was previously an Associate Professor at the Emory University in the Department of Biomedical Informatics.
He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Canada. Prior to joining Duke, he was Co-Director of the Informatics Core at the Georgia CTSA.
Ann Kaseberg has a background in program evaluation, qualitative research, and
community engagement. She is a graduate of the UNC-Chapel Hill Master of Public
Health program, with a concentration in health equity, social justice, and human
rights.
Ms. Chahnaz A. Kbaisi is from the South of Lebanon. She works for CTSI as a Research Technician II and works closely with analysts in the data group and project teams in Durham.
Deborah joined the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute in March 2022 as the Chief Administrative Officer and Assistant Dean for Translational Science. She brings her knowledge, expertise, and management skills to help lead the Duke CTSI team into the next phase of growth and prosperity.
Carla Kingsbury
Ms. Kingsbury came to Duke CTSI in July 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in human services and psychology from Wingate University. Her previous role was with a healthcare system, where she worked in research specializing in traumatic brain injury. Ms. Kingsbury enjoys working in research because it allows her to meet people in the community and see how the contribution of each individual serves a larger purpose to benefit the community as a whole.
