Brooke Heidenfelder, PhD, serves as a research program leader in the Duke Center for Precision Health and for the center’s Duke Kannapolis research site. Her work involves managing clinical research site operations and handling logistics for large-scale genomics research studies, including the OneDukeGen Genomic Sequencing Study and Biorepository (OneDukeGen) at Duke.
Dr. Heidenfelder earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Delaware and a doctorate in biochemistry and biophysics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her background includes postdoctoral experience with multidisciplinary clinical studies at the US Environmental Protection Agency, industry experience in a genomics and diagnostics laboratory, and management of a portfolio of comparative effectiveness research projects within the former Duke Evidence-Based Practice Center.
