Our participants inspire us every day. Founded in 2007, Duke Kannapolis has enrolled more than 13,000 people in clinical research studies using a successful community-based engagement model. Many Duke Kannapolis participants are so committed to clinical research and advancing medical knowledge that they have joined multiple projects, including those who enrolled in COVID-19 research.
The MURDOCK Cabarrus County COVID-19 Prevalence and Immunity (C3PI) Study — a partnership with Duke and the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services to monitor COVID-19 prevalence and immunity levels in the community over time — sustained a 94% survey compliance rate for nearly 18 months, as well as 90% compliance for home-based nasal swabbing and monthly onsite serology. Now that’s commitment!
In their own words, our participants share why they are so committed not only to COVID research, but to clinical research more broadly.
