The event title is placed at the top of this graphic, with a bar of four photos and five icons beneath. The photos depict kids getting off a school bus, a doctor talking to a patient, two adults pushing kids in strollers, three adults on a walk, and a close-up of a person holding a wallet in both hands. The icons underneath read, "Education, Health Care, Environment, Community, Economics." Beneath is the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy logo on a Duke blue background.
There is growing recognition that policymakers and providers should focus on social factors affecting health, not just health care. But how can providers effectively coordinate health and social services that address social determinants of health (SDOHs), such as housing and food security? How can states incorporate SDOHs into insurance programs like Medicaid? The Margolis Scholars have organized a special event featuring speakers who will discuss leveraging community partnerships and care coordination systems to better address SDOH challenges locally and nationally. This event is open to all.
