Single-cell technologies and other related technologies, such as spatial transcriptomics, have been adopted extensively over the past decade, generating voluminous data that profile a myriad of cellular features. To harness the full potential of single-cell data, it is crucial to develop powerful, efficient, and robust computational and statistical methods for analyzing the data and extracting meaningful insights. In this talk, we will introduce several recent new statistical and computational methods developed by the Xie Lab. These methods can screen out activated cells, identify new feature genes, elucidate cell type topology structures, and evaluate clustering label quality. We will also introduce our future research directions, including combining single-cell sequencing and other data modalities.
