As Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into academic research, new ethical challenges have arisen that require thoughtful exploration and dialogue. Join the Duke Office of Scientific Integrity's Research Town Hall on December 3rd from 12 - 1:30pm to learn more about how to responsibly and ethically incorporate AI tools and methods into your work. Expert speakers will discuss issues including the responsible implementation of AI in healthcare settings, transparency in AI-assisted research processes, and the potential for AI to impact academic integrity. We will explore concerns surrounding data privacy, the ethical use of automated systems in research, and the implications of AI's influence on scholarly publication and peer review. This meeting is designed for Duke research community members who are interested in the intersection of AI and academic research. Whether you are already implementing AI in your research or are curious about its potential, this event will offer valuable insights and practical knowledge. Attending this event fulfills the RCR-200 requirement for Faculty and Staff as well as the 714 RCR credit for graduate students, but participants must attend for at least 60 minutes to receive credit.
