The Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) announces that Kimberly S. Johnson, MD, MHS, and Chris Lindsell, PhD, have been named chief equity officer and director of CTSI Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, respectively.
As chief equity officer, Johnson will work to elevate, advance, and accelerate equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist research initiatives. Johnson is the Brenda E. Armstrong, M.D. Distinguished Professor of Medicine in the Duke University School of Medicine, associate director of the Duke CTSA KL2 Program, a mentored research career development program for junior faculty at Duke, and a senior fellow in the Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development.
Lindsell joins CTSI to lead the visionary strategic planning, development, and execution of state-of-the-art research in biostatistics and bioinformatics. He was recruited to Duke to serve as the director of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at DCRI and creates great synergy between DCRI and CTSI. Lindsell is a national leader in clinical and translational science as demonstrated by his role as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clinical and Translational Science.
