During the second training offered in 2025 to the Duke research community, the CTSI Center for Equity in Research will host a transformative, virtual workshop focused on the core principles of gender equity in research. The workshop offers a variety of continuing education credit.
Virtual Workshop to Focus on Vital Role of Racial Equity in Research
The workshop, “Incorporating a Racial Equity Lens through 5Ws Framework in Research,” will be held on Zoom from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23. Keisha Bentley-Edwards, PhD, and Dane Whicker, PhD, co-directors for the CTSI Center for Equity in Research, will lead the training.
CTSI Team Studies Inclusion of Rural Populations in Research
Rural populations have been historically underrepresented/excluded from clinical research. However, there is limited data to guide decisions on inclusion of rural populations at the study level. This paper for Clinical and Translational Science, co-authored by members of the Duke CTSI Integrating Special Populations (ISP) team, describes the inclusion of rural populations within our research enterprise using Clinical Research Management System demographic information at a large academic medical center in the Southeast.
